Airdome, situated at a prominent corner along the bustling H Street Corridor, takes its name from one of the property’s earliest uses as Washington’s premier outdoor amphitheater where patrons would go when indoor theaters became too hot during the summer months. Currently improved with small commercial buildings, the property will undergo a redevelopment to maximize the allowable density and provide 50-60 residential units with approximately 6,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, as well as amenity space, bicycle parking, and underground vehicle parking for residents. Entitlement approvals for the project were granted by the Zoning Commission. In partnership with the Holladay Corporation, construction is expected to begin in 2021.
